Dr. Barnes is a family practice physician specializing in holistic Family Medicine and at Family Christian Health Center (FCHC) in Harvey, IL since 2016. Prior to medical school, Dr. Barnes received a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Barnes then received her medical training from Midwestern University-Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001 and completed a residency in Family Medicine at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County (formerly Cook County Hospital) in 2004. Dr. Barnes has organized, facilitated and helped 2 community clinics obtain the PCMH NCQA Level 2 and 3-certifications. Dr. Barnes has received certifications in Six Sigma Lean Management and Lean Six Sigma for Healthcare. She is currently working on obtaining her Six Sigma Management degree and NCQA PCMH Health Education Trainer Certificate. She received a license to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ in 1999 and subsequently ordained in the ministry in 2003 under the leadership of Apostle H. Daniel Wilson, Senior Pastor of Valley Kingdom Ministries International. As a practicing physician, minister and administrator Dr. Barnes founded Heal-Thy People Family Care Center in Posen, IL in 2007 and was CEO of Heal-Thy People Ministries until 2013, as well as the facilitator and originator of the Heal the Healer conference held in 2010 and 2012, which is now held in San Antonio, TX annually. Dr. Barnes is a wife and mother of four.
