Dr. Alicia Ross, MD is originally from Memphis, Tennessee, and has known she wanted to become a physician since the age of 12. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Memphis. She then obtained a Master of Science in Medical Sciences from Mississippi College before earning her Doctor of Medicine degree from Ross University School of Medicine.
During medical school, Dr. Ross discovered her passion for Family Medicine and its unique ability to provide comprehensive, lifelong care to patients and families. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Lawndale Christian Health Center in Chicago, Illinois, where she developed a strong commitment to serving medically underserved communities.
Dr. Ross is passionate about community outreach, mentorship, and increasing diversity within healthcare. She served as the Co-Founder and Vice President of The Black Impact, an organization dedicated to uniting culturally diverse underrepresented healthcare professionals while advocating for underserved patient populations. She is also a mentor with the I Am Abel Foundation, helping minority students achieve their goals of acceptance into medical school. Additionally, she served as the Resident Liaison for the Young Doctors Club, where Family Medicine residents engaged inner-city children in North Lawndale through science education and medicine-based activities. Dr. Ross is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, an organization committed to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ross enjoys spending time with family, traveling, strength-training workouts, baking, and watching her favorite television shows.
